EAT, PRAY NAMASTE: MINDFUL EATING Workshop
Saturday, March 21st 12:00PM-1:30PM
Too often we think eating is something to get over quickly while we multitask. But by bringing clear attention to the colors and shapes of our food (as if appreciating a work of art), to the changing fragrances and flavors, to the textures and even the sounds of our food, we find that mindful eating is a practice that can nourish us from the inside out.
Join Dana Byerlee (Mindfulness Meditation Teacher) and Dori Lancaster (Nutrition Educator & Vegan Chef) for an afternoon of food tasting on a deeper level. We will engage all the senses as we investigate healthy raw ingredients, combine them to create two yummy treats, and enjoy them in a way that brings us deeper into awareness and aliveness.
*Please register in advance so we can determine necessary food quantities.
THE HEALING JOURNEY: MOVING BEYOND TRAUMA & ILLNESS WITH AWARENESS Workshop
Not Currently Scheduled, Check Back For Future Dates
Can the encounter with trauma or critical illness, either in one’s own body or that of another, be the inspiration to plunge beyond our usual patterns, and deeply heal our hearts and spirits? Drawing upon the wisdom of Yoga, Qigong, Buddhism, and the latest scientific research, this workshop offers Yoga as a support for those working through traumatic experience, chronic illness, or extreme injury.
Having applied these wisdom traditions during her own treatment for breast cancer, Dana Byerlee will guide you through the gentle but profound movements, breath work, visualization, and meditation techniques she has used in her journey to reclaim her heath.
You will receive a workbook featuring the discussed practices and techniques to continue exploring in your own time. No prior meditation or yoga experience necessary. Both those on their own healing path, as well as caregivers are welcome.
